Using the Right Tools For The Job!


The most important aspect of my craft is the actual flower paste (Sugar)

I have been incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to design my very own brand of flower paste developed especially for my exacting requirements, by Smartflex.
The paste we brought to market has the scent of fresh strawberries and performs like a dream…. I couldn't be happier with its incredible qualities.

MODULE 1

Colouring The Flower Paste

In this first group of videos, I show you how to add beautiful base colour tones to my premium flower paste, using my super concentrated colour powders.

I then take you through how to securely attach the Frangipani leaves to a floral wire, using my very own unique technique. 

Then I share how I attach an elongated sugar stem to each leaf, an incredible transferable skill which can be applied to any other sugar leaf.

MODULE 2

Closed Buds & Flowers 

In this group of videos, I show you how to make the individual wired sugar closed buds using my tried and tested methods.

I also cover commercial and best in show techniques, saving time and boosting your sugar work to a different level.

I then explain all about the process of using botanically correct silicone veiners and how to get the most perfect results.

I then progress onto sharing how I create beautifully shaped sugar petals and how I go about naturally positioning them. 

MODULE 3

Colouring And Glazing

Here comes the fun part bringing the sugar petals and leaves to life using my own brand of edible petal dusts.

I show how to mix coloured tones using my handmade paint brush sets, explain how to build up texture and depth by over dusting and pouncing techniques.

I then cover the wet glazing process using my edible setting wet & spray glazes.

Lichen Moss  Application

The application of sugar lichen moss is completely addictive, this unique very delicate procedure will have you hooked!

I think it really brings the Plumeria Frangipani completely covered flower paste stem to life...

Final Assembly

I take you through how to attach & naturally arrange the delicate wired closed buds.

Position the striking Frangipani flowers in a way to really elevate your sugar work.

Attaching the textured flower stem beneath the flowers, really adds that sophisticated beauty and simplicity to this modern sugar Plumeria plant arrangement.
